HEALTH
DO I NEED TRAVEL INSURANCE? :
For your personal safety, travel insurance with medical evacuation coverage is mandatory. In case of an emergency, we will assist you in contacting your insurance company.
IS THERE A RISK OF CONTRACTING MALARIA IN G-LAND? :
Mosquito bites can bring several diseases, so personal precautions are suggested. Risk of contracting malaria is extremely low in G-land. For sure it is good to use insect repellant, and wear long sleeves and pants in the mornings and evenings. But in the middle of the dry season it really isn't an issue. G-Land is nothing like Lombok & Sumbawa & Mentawai's where Malaria is a common place.
ARE THE FIRST AID KITS AND/OR DOCTORS EASILY AVAILABLE? :
We have a first aid kit in the clinic, however we strongly recommend bringing your own medications. In particular, an antiseptic to clean cuts and antibiotics in case of infection. We have a Surf Guide plus doctor on site to do a basic medical treatment.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE EVENT OF AN INJURY? :
Because G-Land Surf does have some gnarly waves in the likes of Speedies, and it has coral reef, injuries are possible. The most common type is cuts and scrapes from hitting the reef. In Bobby's G-Land Surf Camp often have a surfing doctor who is highly skilled and experienced at stitching cuts and wounds. We have plenty of medical supplies on hand as well.
If the injury is serious such as breaking a bone, dislocating a shoulder, etc, then we have a Helipad. Through your travel insurance we arrange for a helicopter to come and transport you to a western standard hospital in Bali. For those who really want to do it in style, for a few thousand dollars they can fly to G-Land by helicopter to go surfing!
HOW'S THE SECURITY IN G-LAND? :
The only people allowed in the camp are guests and staff. We have a big safe that any guest can put valuables in (passports, money, etc) if they feel the need. Thieving is basically unheard of at Bobby's camp. All your surfboards and gear are totally safe.
TRANSPORT
HOW DO I GET TO BOBBY'S G-LAND SURF CAMP? :
Currently the best way to get to G-Land is to fly from your country to Bali. Once in Bali Airport (I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport) you have two options:
A. Taking the Speedboat transfer (Best Recommended)
The trip across the Bali Strait, along the south coast of Eastern Java’s Blambangan Peninsula, and into Grajagan Bay covers about 100 kilometers and typically takes 2 hours with smooth ocean conditions. Typically, you’ll be walking into camp by 8:00 AM. The time in Java is 1 hour behind Bali since the time zone runs through the Bali Strait. When you walk into the Camp, the Staff will be waiting, ready to welcome you and serve you breakfast.
