SURF/DIVE/FISHING GEAR

  • 2 – 3 surfboards recommended max. We know many people will ignore this advice. Experience with airlines is that 2 -3 boards tend to make it 4 or more boards sometimes get lost, off loaded, refused boarding or charged excess baggage. Airlines also tend to freak a bit when they see huge quad board bags. Pack only your boards in your bag and try to keep it light- Do not use it as a catchall for all you excess clothing and equipment
  • Extra leashes
  • Wax
  • Booties for surfing and walking on coral reefs
  • Helmet for sun & impact protection. Tom Carroll wears one! Or, a stay-on surf hat with bill
  • Short-John &/Or Lycra rash guard. (Sun & coral protection)
  • Mask & Fins. All the boats, resorts, and camps have this equipment either free or at a small charge. However, if you plan on doing a lot of snorkeling you may wish to bring your own as the set supplied may not be the perfect fit you will get with your own gear
  • Camera and/or GoPro for long lasting memories
  • Ding repair kit. Epoxy types only. Seal it up well. (You can not bring acetone or resin on aircraft.)
  • Fishing gear & equipment is supplied. If you plan on doing a lot of fishing you may want to bring some equipment. Rapala 180's blue/black & red/white work well. 20-50lb test with wire leader. Most common fish include tuna, wahoo, mahi mahi & trevally
